There was certainly an element of that, but he worked really hard for a number of his possessions too. And in a side that is renowned for turnovers, I found a stat in Kevin Sheedy's "Supercoach" column in the Herald Sun interesting. Every single one of his 39 disposals was rated as "effective". Now admittedly lots of those weren't under pressure (he took a bunch of marks), but we have desperately needed that level of reliability in our disposals for a long time now. Lets hope it's contagious!

I was staggered when I saw his stats.
How many of his possessions and marks were uncontested across half back?

Supercoach: C.Cornes out, J.Bowden in: come back Joel, all is forgiven. And for 180 points, you can have my children too.

>> being called a “list clogger” by Gary Lyon

Can Gary Lyon talk?? From what i remember he clogged up a spot trying to get back onto the field with his dodgy back. maybe he should have retired sooner and then he can comment about Greg.

Must be! To be honest, I think that Greg is more likely to be depressed by being called a "list clogger" by Gary Lyon than worry about anything I have to say. But he shouldn't lose heart, it happens for everyone

Yeah, I actually thought that Jake played a good game. There were about 3 or 4 separate instances where his actions directly prevented a goal. He makes mistakes, but he's worth the frustration. But I'll leave the rest of my thoughts for the match report ;)

>We stand at a fork in the road: we can either play like we’ve been playing and win this match easily, or we can play like we’ve been playing and fail to close out games that we really should win.

...and the answer is....both! I think we need to play not quite so well in the first half so the boys don't go in for their oranges feeling pleased with themselves. Two weeks running we've not really shown up the first half of the 3rd quarter.

Jake King's in a bit of a hole at the mo - not running with it much, but taking the angry pills; so that's OK - still love him.
How good is Matty White?
