Could a Sheedy/Rawlings team work?

Posted on July 31, 2009 | Category: Discussions

Lets face it, in the earlier post (Jade the Blade – the Next Geisch or Paul Roos Mark II?) a big part of the concern with Jade (that’s Mr Blade to you) was his lack of experience in the big league: in any capacity. So my crazy Friday afternoon question becomes: should Richmond appoint Kevin Sheedy into a “Director of Coaching” type role, and guide the path of Rawlings as he comes to terms with the rigors of what AFL coaching is all about. Doesn’t that represent a “best of both worlds” scenario? Sheedy must surely have come to terms with no longer being a viable option as a senior coach, but his experience would be invaluable in helping Jade find his feet.

I know this must be a stupid idea, I just can’t put my finger on why. Feel free to let me know.

Super Sheedy? Or is that Director Sheedy!

If Sheedy could not take the limelight and be a hindrance to Rawlings, why not!
btw so does Rawlings have the job now?

@Kick2kick – It’s all just hypothesising. Like I’ve got any idea really.
