Normally the experience of deja vu will happen after you have had something happen in a dream. But on Saturday night, the experience was reversed, with the Dreamtime at the ‘G match being an equally disappointing copy of the Brisbane Lions match only two weeks earlier. Once again, we couldn’t find a route to goal, despite being the dominant team for much of the match, and as a result our opposition eventually woke up to themselves, and beat the living daylights out of their much more ordinary rivals. Easy shots were missed, and shots were almost always pushed wide and long – because we haven’t got any kind of key figure up forward. Jack Riewoldt – it’s depressing that I don’t care how out of form you are, I still want you back in the side. Our best forward continues to be the four foot, twenty kilo Robin Nahas.
There is no hope, but for cricket season.
