After deciding that the best way to learn from Brendan Fevola’s stupidity was to try it out himself, Kane Johnson won’t be playing against the Kangaroos next Sunday. From the Age:
Richmond captain Kane Johnson has apologised to his fellow Tigers after he was arrested for being drunk and urinating in public, the club’s football director says.
…”(Johnson) sets high standards and for him to make that mistake, he will forever regret it,” said Miller at the club’s Punt Road headquarters this morning.
Miller said Johnson’s captaincy and career with the club were not in jeopardy.” (Source: The Age -”‘Admirable’ Johnson sorry for drunken act”)
Disappointing would be an understatement. It’s hardly the look we need from our captain, and it’s surprising that Greg Miller would say that the captaincy hasn’t been called into question. No doubt about it, if it happens again then he shouldn’t be captain. Kane Johnson is a wonderful leader, and he should still be our captain, but it seems unlikely that he would survive another screw up like this one in the number 17.
