Round 10 - The one that got away

Posted on June 4, 2006 | Category: Uncategorized

After copping a barrage of abuse about the regular Richmond reports, it’s definitely staying in. I enjoy writing these far too much to let them go.

15 points halfway through the last quarter should be enough. A team with that sort of lead shouldn’t lose. But we did. It was the week for it - at least I don’t go for Geelong. It would have been a season-defining win - to take down Freo at Subi. As it is - it was at least a valiant effort. There haven’t been many good defeats, but this one was alright.

Chris Hyde has been continuing his recent good form and become a livewire up forward. Coughlan was playing better than he has of late. Pettifer continues to improve. Greg Tivendale even got some ball. We continue to be a side that is playing above itself. If we lose that confidence, it could be a nasty second half of the season. But if we can show the same fight we put up this week in each and every game, we might just be in the running for that most cherished of spots in all Richmond supporters hearts - ninth.
