Take your checkbook, pen and a piece of paper with “3 year contract” written on the top of it.
Set up camp on Mick Malthouse’s front yard, and let him know that he can sign a contract right there and then.
Keep doing that until his name is either on a contract with Richmond or a contract [...]
…please Tiges – let it be this one. One of the few joys of following the mighty Tigers was that every couple of years the yeller and black got up to upset the finals plans of the filthy Blues. The opportunity is there, the motive couldn’t be more obvious: revenge for that game should be [...]
Big ins and outs this week, with Jade Rawlings making it clear that he had no intention of marking time. 5 changes is a big deal in and of itself, but the changes are in many ways the changes that have needed to happen for a while.
Vickery for Simmonds
Exciting to see our number eight draft [...]
Seems like a good decision to get Jade Rawlings as caretaker: it certainly doesn’t seem to lock us in too much to keeping the caretaker on next year – which was my biggest concern. With all due respect to the current assistant coaches, I didn’t want any of them coaching next year.
So well done Tiges, [...]
The inevitable has happened. It’s a sad thing that Wallace didn’t last out the year, although the discussions around “if he’s going to be at a new club next year, then recruiting etc. shouldn’t be discussed in earshot” make a certain degree of sense. Regardless, it’s always a sad day to see your coach walk [...]
Normally the experience of deja vu will happen after you have had something happen in a dream. But on Saturday night, the experience was reversed, with the Dreamtime at the ‘G match being an equally disappointing copy of the Brisbane Lions match only two weeks earlier. Once again, we couldn’t find a route to goal, [...]
Terry Wallace got sacked by the board. No, the players told the board he should be sacked. Wait, actually he got sacked by the board, then re-instated because the players supported him at a meeting. It all came up because Mitch Morton got a grudge against Wallace after being told that he (Morton) had cost [...]
Despite the doom and gloom, Saturday was not a complete loss: for starters Cousins got through the match unscathed. But more than that, we saw two young players prove that they’re a cut above a great number of their more experienced teammates.
Angus Graham
Big Angus put in one of the best Richmond ruck performances I’ve seen [...]
The signs weren’t good. After talking for most of the week about how Richo’s absence was an opportunity for Richmond to sort out the forward structure, Terry Wallace dropped Mitch Morton and listed Troy Simmonds at Full Forward, with Adam Pattison at Forward Pocket. Strike One.
Then Nathan Brown and Patto dropped out before the side [...]
